First Iris Service Definition Document (SDD) available for download

Iris Service Definition Document (SDD) has been published on ESSP website. The purpose of  Iris SDD is to provide the conditions of access to the Service in an open and transparent manner  to Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs), airlines, operators and the end users of the Service.

Iris Air Traffic Management (ATM) programme led by the European Space Agency (ESA) is a flagship to modernise and digitalise the aviation industry delivering high-bandwidth, cost-effective satellite-based data link communications for global ATM modernization.

Starting with this first release, ESSP – as the Iris Service Provider (ISP) – presents the characteristics of this service offered to users highlighting the service performance and limitations as well as a description of the Iris System architecture and information on the established technical and organizational framework for the provision of the Service.
