Help Shape Skills and Training in the Downstream Space Sector

The downstream space sector is evolving fast. Organisations are constantly reassessing the skills needed to make the most of space-based data. To support this, the SpaceSUITE project is running two short surveys to hear directly from professionals working with Earth observation, GNSS, SatCom, and related data.

SpaceSUITE is an EU-funded Erasmus+ project focused on building a skilled workforce and providing practical solutions for skills development in the sector. The project aims to:

  • Identify skills gaps and design strategies to meet the changing needs of the downstream space ecosystem.
  • Develop new curricula and training programmes for higher and vocational education.
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across industry, academia, and public agencies.

Space Y is proud to support SpaceSUITE, helping to connect stakeholders across the sector and ensure that the project’s outcomes reflect the real needs of downstream space organisations.

Both surveys are anonymous and open until end of January 2026. Your input is key to ensuring that SpaceSUITE’s outputs reflect real-world needs.

  • Availability of professional development opportunities
  • Training budgets and resources
  • Preferred learning formats
  • Awareness of micro-credentials
  • Interest in future SpaceSUITE services

Why your voice matters

Recruitment and training challenges vary across Europe. Some organisations need highly technical specialists, others stronger digital or analytical skills, and some face gaps in project management or interdisciplinary knowledge.

By sharing your experience, you help create a clear picture of the sector’s real needs, which will guide the development of training materials, expert services, and practical guidance tools within SpaceSUITE.

Your feedback ensures that resources are practical, relevant, and ready for today’s workforce.
